I decided to launch an M&A advisory firm specialised in the fields of IT, tech and the Internet after having myself been a client of such types of consultancies – both as a shareholder and as a Corporate Executive of software companies, sometimes on the acquirer side, other times on the seller side.
When looking for an M&A consultancy, beyond financial proficiency, we always tried to identify an advisory firm that perfectly understood our business and our operational strategy and that could efficiently help us evaluate risk, identify the advantages and drawbacks of various potential investment targets and financial arrangements, and assist us in shaping and foreseeing the projected merger in terms of business organisation, human resource management and more.
The vast majority of these advisory firms didn’t come from our sector specifically.
Beyond the basic financial aspects of the transaction, what we expected was legal proficiency (drawing up a divestment agreement, negotiating an asset and liability guarantee clause or a shareholders’ agreement), fiscal proficiency and excellence in asset/wealth management.
Before launching Atlantic Finance, I perfected my expertise in International Finance at HEC in Paris. Prior to that I worked for 25 years in the IT and tech sector, acting as Chief Operating Officer of various international software editing companies resulting from mergers, of a services outsourcing firm and of the software subsidiary of a group listed on the stock exchange and active in 25 countries.
In the meantime I founded, managed and then sold off a software services company.
My gathered experience is reflected in the added value Atlantic Finance has to offer: in addition to our broad knowledge of financial services, we have a firm grasp of our clients’ corporate ecosystem and can fully anticipate every aspect and potential risk related to their ventures, even on the psychological side.
Ever since its inception, Atlantic Finance has been exclusively specialised in the sectors of IT, tech and the Internet – where most true innovation is happening today.
In these fields where new services and new technologies keep emerging, it’s important for companies to keep updating their business model and efficiently face the many challenges permanent innovations bring.
